The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) on behalf of the African Council for Distance Education (ACDE), invites applications from suitable and qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of a Senior Accountant in the African Council for Distance Education – Quality Assurance Accreditation Agency (ACDE – QAAA), Abuja Scope of Position Duties * Review prebills and prepare monthly invoices * Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end analysis * Prepare and consolidate financial statements * Assist with budget preparation and analysis * Maintain the agency’s accounting files * Assist with multiple projects Qualifications * At least six (6) years post-qualification cognate administrative and accounting experience in the University system or comparable establishment. * Possession of a Professional Qualification such as ACA or ACII will be an added advantage. * Must be a member of at least one of such professional bodies as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, ANAN etc. * A reasonable knowledge of Open and Distance Learning will be of added advantage. Critical Competencies * Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. * Good working knowledge of Information and Communication Technology for use of directing the appropriate use of ICT in collating and reporting the accounts of the agency. * Ability to work in a team and/or with minimal supervision and interact at all levels of management. * Ability to adapt to changing priorities, increasingly demanding roles, take initiative and have a commitment to personal and career growth. * Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail. * Be accountable, accept responsibilities and set standards. * Warm/friendly, approachable and professional conduct/appearance, flexible and responsive. * Fluency in English Language; including French or Arabic will be an advantage.
