The African Council for Distance Education (ACDE) and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) with support from the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Vancouver, Canada wish to invite you to an International Workshop on Instructional Systems Design, Development and Evaluation in Open and Distance Learning. The workshop has been scheduled to hold from Monday 28 June to Friday 2 July 2010 in Lagos, Nigeria. Selection of the theme for the workshop has been informed by the need to acquire, exhibit and conform to international norms in ODL and quality assurance and properly develop capacity to effectively provide quality assured learning materials. The workshop will address contemporary issues in instructional system design and its implications for the practice of open and distance learning systems in developing countries of Africa. Learning theories and other sciences that underpin and support systematic and systemic process of instructional design would be critically examined in the workshop. The stages of this process may be summarised by the acronym LADDERS, which refers to LEARNING, ANALYSIS, DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, EVALUATION, REVIEW AND SCALE-UP.
